Adding, moving, duplicating, and removing sections
Documentation / Page anatomy and the managed editor
Use sections to divide the managed page body into meaningful groups. A section owns its layout and the blocks inside it, so a structural change affects the whole group.
Add and arrange
Open the managed page editor and use a section insertion point at the intended position. A newly added native section starts with a contained width, one column, and medium section height. Add content blocks inside it after confirming the container is in the right place.
Select an existing section to access its section toolbar. Use its movement controls to change the section's position. Confirm the full section is selected rather than a Text or media block inside it.
Duplicate a section when you want an independent copy of its layout and content. The editor assigns a new section identity and refreshes child identities when cloning the rendered structure. The copied section does not become a linked reusable component merely because it looks identical.
Remove carefully
Removing a section removes its contained blocks as part of the structural edit. Review the content first, especially forms, reference embeds, and Rows that can hold several items. Do not confuse hiding a title or changing spacing with deleting content.
Template-bound pages restrict section-level editing. Their shared sections remain template-owned, while named editable areas accept page content. Custom-designed bodies also reject native section insertion and replacement.
Review the saved structure
After saving or publishing through the current editor controls, reopen the page and inspect the section order. Check that copied media, Buttons, and Rows remain editable and that any independent copy now has the intended content. Verify narrow-screen spacing after moving a large section.
For shared reuse rather than independent copying, see Templates and reusable content.
