Website design

Managed mode and Custom mode

Beeboo offers built-in design controls for managed content and agent-authored layouts for custom content. These modes have different editing capabilities.

Managed mode: built-in design controls

Choose fonts, configure gradients and backgrounds, set hero images, and arrange content in columns using the editor's controls. Adjust supported spacing and presentation settings without editing page source.

Fonts

Select fonts for the website's heading and body roles, with an optional accent font. Site selections provide shared defaults; supported content controls let you choose the appropriate font role.

Gradients and backgrounds

Configure gradient backgrounds and theme colors, then apply the supported background settings to the page and its sections.

Pages can use alternate colors extracted automatically from their hero image. This lets page-specific backgrounds and gradients use colors drawn from that image rather than relying only on the website's default palette.

Hero images and columns

Set the page's hero image and configure its supported presentation options. Arrange content with Rows and columns, adjust spacing, and check the result at different screen sizes.

Managed mode uses the layout and styling options available in the editor. It is not an unrestricted visual design canvas.

Custom mode: request a design from an agent

Describe the layout and visual direction you want. An agent can author custom page content and styling instead of arranging the page through the managed editor's layout controls.

You can specify typography, spacing, backgrounds, content hierarchy, and responsive behavior. For example:

Create a product page with a full-width introduction, a two-column feature section, and a comparison table. Use our website fonts and keep the mobile layout readable.

Custom content can include validated HTML, scoped CSS, original inline SVG, and supported interactions. Arbitrary scripts are not accepted.

Editing a custom design

Ask the agent to revise the design, or use the available source controls. A custom layout does not expose the same visual editing controls as managed content.

Moving a managed body to custom source does not maintain a second editable managed copy. Later source changes do not update a hidden native layout; earlier versions remain available through revision history.

Website features around the design

The platform still handles page identity, access controls, search metadata, and the website's navigation and footer.

Custom bodies can include an existing website form while retaining its configured fields, validation, response storage, and notification settings.

Templates and reusable content

Managed pages can use templates for common structure and editable areas. Template-owned regions remain connected to the template. Custom bodies are not supported on template-bound pages.

Review the result

Check the page on desktop and mobile, including text contrast, heading lengths, links, forms, and keyboard access. For animated custom designs, include a reduced-motion version.
