Legal module

Website documents and privacy settings

The legal module brings document preparation, cookie preferences, and consent records into Beeboo's control panel. It uses information you provide about your organization and website. Generated documents are drafts for review, not a legal opinion or a certification of compliance.

Privacy policy and terms

The questionnaire collects your organization's identity, privacy contact, data collection points, third-party services, and data storage location. You can also describe retention periods, purposes and legal bases for processing, international transfers, and practices involving minors.

Generate privacy policy and terms drafts in English and French. The selected jurisdiction and your answers determine which clauses are included. Review both language versions, replace any wording that does not reflect your practices, and update the documents when those practices change.

Cookies and consent

Visitors can choose whether to allow optional analytics and marketing cookies. Essential cookies remain enabled. Regional settings determine the initial consent choices and available rejection controls.

The module supports consent signals for connected services and Global Privacy Control (GPC) for California settings. Check each integration individually: a preference banner does not automatically control every third-party script you add to a website.

Consent records and configuration review

Review available consent records, filter them, and export them for further review. Records can include the action, consent categories, region, page, and time. Recording depends on the consent configuration in use.

Setup checks help identify missing configuration. They do not establish that your organization meets every applicable legal obligation.

Quebec businesses: Law 25 and Bill 96

Quebec businesses need to consider privacy obligations and French-language requirements separately. The module helps gather website information and prepare bilingual drafts so those details can be reviewed together.

Law 25: personal information protection

Law 25, the Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information, changed Quebec's privacy framework.

The module includes fields for a privacy contact, data collection, retention, transfers, and other privacy practices. Quebec document clauses cover topics such as portability, requests for de-indexation, and automated-decision disclosures where applicable. Cookie preferences and available consent records support the website's privacy configuration.

These features do not perform your organization's operational duties, assess every processing activity, or resolve whether a particular legal obligation applies.

Bill 96: French-language requirements

Bill 96, enacted as the Act respecting French, the official and common language of Quebec, amended Quebec's language framework.

English and French document drafts help prepare the website for review. Quebec-specific publishing checks can require a French version of a legal page before its English version is published. Where used, bilingual terms-acceptance controls present French wording before English.

Review your public content, documents, and any contracts with an adviser. Bilingual documents or acceptance controls alone do not establish compliance with French-language requirements.

Other regional features

Regional support refers to specific document clauses and consent settings. It is not a guarantee of compliance across an entire jurisdiction.

European Union and European Economic Area: GDPR

The document generator includes GDPR-related sections for privacy rights, a data protection contact, purposes and legal bases, and international-transfer safeguards according to your answers. Regional consent settings use opt-in choices for optional categories.

Federal Canada: PIPEDA

Canadian document sections describe access, correction, withdrawal of consent, and complaints. Federal Canadian consent settings use opt-in choices for optional categories. Determine which federal and provincial rules apply to your organization.

California: CCPA and CPRA

California document sections cover consumer rights and sale or sharing disclosures. The consent tools support Global Privacy Control and region-specific opt-out settings. Your organization must verify its actual data practices and whether the legislation applies.

Brazil: LGPD

Brazilian document sections cover privacy rights, the privacy contact (encarregado), and international transfers. Regional consent settings use opt-in choices for optional categories.

Configure, test, and review

  • Enter facts about your organization, services, and data practices.
  • Select the relevant jurisdiction and consent settings.
  • Review generated wording in each language.
  • Test optional tracking, rejection controls, and preference changes with the services your website actually uses.
  • Check available records and revisit the configuration when your practices change.

These tools do not replace legal advice or guarantee compliance. Your organization remains responsible for its published documents, configuration, and activities outside the website.
