Creating a web page

Documentation / Pages and navigation

Create the page from the collection where it belongs. This avoids starting with the right content in the wrong tree, particularly when the website contains a main navigation collection alongside blogs or documentation.

Add the page

  1. Select the website and intended collection in the content area.
  2. Choose Add Page.
  3. Enter Nav Title. The current creation form requires a non-empty title.
  4. Enter URL (optional) if you need a specific path. Otherwise, the form derives a path from the title.
  5. Choose Add Page and wait for the page to appear.

The URL is normalized when you leave the field and when you create the page. A conflict or other validation error must be resolved before creation succeeds. Check the stored result instead of assuming every character from the title becomes part of the address.

Review before adding content

Open the new page's metadata. Confirm its visible title, navigation label, actual URL, availability, and any template choice. Creation is not a separate guarantee of a private drafting state. Set the intended access explicitly before adding material that should not be public.

Regular pages retain a real header block outside the body. Add body sections below it rather than replacing the header with a section styled to resemble a hero. Shared chrome pages, such as a footer, are a different kind of content.

Open the page editor, add a small amount of content, and verify the saved page at its resolved address. Check its navigation placement separately.

See Page anatomy and the managed editor for the first content edit.
