Connecting a domain and configuring DNS

Documentation / Site administration and domains

You need permission to change the website's domain and access to its DNS provider. Coordinate with whoever manages email and other services on the same domain. Replacing unrelated DNS records can interrupt those services.

Save the website's domain

Open Settings > Domain. Under Active domain, choose Use custom domain and enter the intended hostname. Choose Save domain setting. The saved notice confirms the Beeboo setting, not a completed connection.

Domain verification is unavailable in local development. Use the production admin screen for the website you intend to connect.

Attach and verify the hostnames

In DNS & Verification, choose Create Vercel domain records. If the attachment is incomplete, the action can read Create missing Vercel domain records. When both required hostnames are attached, the interface shows Domain is connected in Vercel.

Read the current DNS instructions on that screen. Copy the exact record types, hostnames, and targets it displays into your DNS provider. This documentation deliberately supplies no fixed IP address, CNAME target, or verification value: those must come from the actual domain setup screen.

Choose Check DNS Status after applying changes. Review both displayed hostnames. Not connected means a hostname is not attached in Vercel. Waiting for DNS means DNS or certificate validation remains pending. Verified indicates the hostname has passed the hosting check.

Check the visitor result

Allow time for DNS propagation, then test the HTTPS address in a visitor session. Confirm the right website, homepage, language routes, and expected canonical redirect.

If verification stalls, compare the provider's saved records with the screen, check for conflicting records, and ask the domain administrator about proxying or ownership verification. Do not repeatedly remove and recreate the domain. See site administration and domains for visibility and launch checks.
