Design and styling
Begin with ownership: is the change for one block, a page, a template, or the shared website? Managed design uses native settings for layout, text roles, media, and surfaces. Custom page design uses reviewed HTML and scoped CSS. A shared shell controls selected surrounding regions without replacing the body.
Site fonts and theme colors provide a common foundation. Page colors can override the website palette, while native block settings refine individual content. Section and header controls have distinct responsibilities; older decorative properties are not a reliable guide to the current editor.
Use the articles here to choose widths, spacing, backgrounds, responsive layouts, and accessible presentation. Custom-source articles explain the read-only visual boundary, validation rules, and optional behavior modules. Shared shell support must be confirmed on the active deployment before use.
For native content operations, see Page anatomy and the managed editor. For structure shared by several pages, see Templates and reusable content. Always inspect saved output at narrow and wide sizes before treating a design change as complete.
