Reviewing generated content with legal counsel

Documentation / Legal and privacy with LEX8

Have qualified counsel review generated legal documents against the website's real processing and commercial practices. LEX8 generation and validation provide a starting document, not legal advice, certification, or a guarantee of compliance. A technically complete questionnaire can still contain incorrect assumptions.

Prepare the review package

Provide the current Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, their update dates and languages, and the questionnaire answers. Include an accurate inventory of forms, accounts, payments, newsletters, analytics, marketing services, embeds, and any automated decision-making.

Explain retention periods, deletion methods, storage regions, cross-region transfers, subprocessors, and the process for handling privacy requests. Distinguish an implemented procedure from an intended future policy. Do not describe a dropdown value or a generated clause as proof that the underlying practice exists.

Share documents through approved channels. Redact irrelevant visitor records, internal credentials, private-preview secrets, and unrelated personal details. If audit evidence is required, LEX8 > Audit Logs supports a selected date range and exports; collect only the records needed for that review.

Review wording and implementation together

Ask counsel to assess jurisdiction, consumer terms, privacy rights, consent language, minors, recourse, and translation equivalence as applicable. Also review whether the actual banner, integration loading, footer links, and language behavior match the documents.

Generation writes public legal pages. Arrange review timing and website visibility before generating on a live public site. If counsel edits the page directly, preserve the amendments and decide how they will survive later regeneration.

Record the approved result

After changes, check every language and legal link, note the reviewed generation version, and identify who owns future updates. Revisit the questionnaire when services or practices change. If an earlier wording is needed, inspect page history rather than treating legal version metadata as a complete backup. See legal and privacy and saving and recovery.
