LEX8's Save Draft and Save & Generate Legal Pages have different effects. Neither is the visual editor's cloud autosave. Confirm the selected website and understand the action before saving, particularly on a public production site.

Save questionnaire answers

Save Draft stores the questionnaire and draft-update metadata without regenerating the Privacy Policy or Terms of Service pages. It is suitable while answers are incomplete or awaiting review. Existing generated pages remain as they were, so their wording can differ from the newly saved answers.

A questionnaire draft is persisted site configuration, not a private throwaway document. The save path also updates the legal Quebec-compliance flag. Do not assume every setting is inactive merely because legal pages were not regenerated.

Generate and publish documents

Save & Generate Legal Pages validates the complete questionnaire. It then generates English and French legal text and prepares any other configured language translations. All required translations must succeed before page or settings writes begin.

The operation writes public legal pages, records generation metadata and a new version, and adds footer references. It preserves unrelated footer links and settings. Existing legal page bodies are replaced with generated content, so collect reviewed manual amendments before regenerating.

Generation is not an unpublished preview. If professional review must happen before visitors see the documents, arrange the site's review and availability process first rather than assuming this button stages a draft.

Handle errors

Validation errors require corrected answers. A missing translation provider can prevent generation for an additional language. Storage failures after writing begins can leave partial page updates; inspect all expected pages and settings before retrying.
