Reusing sections and blocks

Documentation / Templates and reusable content

Decide whether reuse means an independent starting point or content that remains controlled elsewhere. Beeboo exposes copying, reference insertion, and templates, but those mechanisms do not promise the same update behavior.

Independent copies

Duplicate a section to copy its layout and children. The editor assigns new identities to the copied structure. For one block, use Copy and an available Paste block insertion point. Copying produces content you can change independently.

Review copied links, media, and any retained template or content references. Fresh identifiers do not automatically rewrite every destination to a new business purpose.

Reference insertion

Section Embed accepts a section address in the form pageId.sectionId. Block Embed accepts pageId.blockId. Copy the relevant code, open the matching embed dialog, use Preview, and choose Insert after confirming the resolved content.

The current insertion path resolves rendered HTML and stores a reference marker with that HTML. Do not promise that later edits to the source automatically update every inserted occurrence. Verify the saved and published behavior for the exact content type before relying on synchronization.

Parent Embed is distinct: supported sequential-tree pages can resolve designated content from their parent at render time. It depends on the tree relationship and a matching source code, so it is not a general cross-page replacement for templates.

Choose durable shared structure

For repeated page layouts with controlled editable content, use a template. For shared content around pages, use the topline, prefooter, or footer facilities.

After reuse, save and reopen the destination. Check layout, identifiers, links, and source dependencies. If source content changes, explicitly retest the destination rather than assuming propagation.

See Collections and content trees for parent relationships.
