Publication dates, drafts, and availability

Documentation / Blogs

A blog's publication date, page availability, and saved editor edits are separate controls. A date orders dated listings. Availability affects access and listing eligibility. An editor draft preserves changes that have not been committed to the page.

Set a publication date

Use Date in page settings. Public blog listings exclude posts whose date is later than today's ISO date. The implementation compares calendar dates using UTC; it does not offer a verified per-post timezone or time-of-day scheduler.

A past or current date does not make an unavailable post eligible for listing. A future date hides a public post from dated listings and the sitemap, but the verified direct-post routing does not enforce date-based access blocking. Do not use a future date to protect confidential or embargoed content.

Understand the availability controls

The current native page form offers public access, Direct link only, password protection, and disabled access. The content model also recognizes draft and private states for listing and indexing decisions. The native form does not expose separate Draft and Private options, and those stored states should not be assumed to provide authentication.

Direct-link access is not confidentiality: someone with the address can visit, and the page remains indexable unless separately excluded. Disabling navigation is also not an access restriction.

Keep unpublished edits separate

Cloud-saved editor changes do not replace committed public content until the page commit. Authenticated draft previews are distinct from normal visitor rendering.

Validate access

Open the post address and listing without an administrator session. Verify actual password or disabled behavior independently of dates and menu visibility.
