Troubleshooting layouts, embeds, and media

Documentation / Saving, recovery, and troubleshooting

Start with the exact page, language, browser width, and whether the problem occurs in the editor, a preview, or a visitor session. A layout that fails only on mobile needs a different investigation from an unavailable image or a third-party service blocked before consent.

Identify design ownership

For managed pages, inspect the relevant section or block's width, spacing, alignment, responsive arrangement, and inherited settings. For template-bound content, check whether a locked template area owns the styling. A site-wide shell change can affect several pages even when their bodies were not edited.

Custom bodies and headers are read-only in the visual editor. Their HTML and scoped CSS must be edited through supported custom authoring, not patched by inserting legacy HTML into a text block. Ask an assistant to read the current source and propose a bounded change before saving.

Check media and embeds

Verify the saved asset URL, provider identifier, aspect ratio, and intended crop. Test the original resource separately where permitted. Do not upload repeated copies merely because a cached preview is stale.

For external embeds, confirm that the provider supports embedding and that the URL is the correct embed source. Inspect whether consent, browser privacy settings, authentication, or the provider's own restrictions prevent loading. A blank embed is not automatically a Beeboo layout failure.

Custom designs reject arbitrary scripts, inline event handlers, and unsupported markup. Use supported behavior modules and native form placeholders instead of attempting to bypass validation.

Verify a fix

Change one identified cause, then check desktop and mobile, keyboard access, reduced motion where relevant, and the ordinary visitor view. Read back any assistant update and preserve unrelated blocks and metadata.

If the issue began after a save, compare page or shell history before restoring a whole site. See design and styling, media and integrations, and saving and recovery.
